Know Your Rights

“We declare our rights on this earth to be a man; to be a human being; to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being: in this society – on this earth – and in this day, which we intend to bring into existence”
Malcolm X

Welcome to the Know Your Rights website

This site is supported by Comic Relief and forms part of the 1990 Trust’s three year Human Rights for All programme.

The Human Rights for All programme will work to challenge the current discourse on race and will seek to change the dialogue from a needs based approach to a rights based approached to challenging racism.

The 1990 Trust is a Black led human rights organisation. Our strategic objectives are: to establish the principle that Racism is a violation of human rights; to establish an international reputation for excellence and innovation by demonstrating the benefits of African, Asian and Caribbean communities working collectively to tackle racism; and to develop self organisation and community leadership in order to empower Black communities to reach their full potential.
